A Contingent Workforce Collecting Valuable Data
Even with the most automated and thorough systems, unexpected change can happen, especially in a large facility. You need to periodically verify existing conditions in the field for everything from space/room layout and use to department and occupancy information. Doing so will help keep data current and fill the gaps where changes slip through the system.
In addition, assets tend to not always represent what is shown on floor plans or listed in spaces. Field verification for current conditions along with asset collection and verification are additional boots-on-the ground-services that AMS Workplace Technology provides.
Field Verification
AMS can provide personnel to walk the floors of your facility and edit your FMS:Workplace data to be accurate per existing conditions. This may include verifying architectural changes such as renovations to keep CAD data up to date. In addition, occupancy and space use data such as assigned personnel to workspaces and details on how spaces are being used can easily be updated.
Field verifications often reveal vacant space that was not realized due to assigned personnel or departments no longer using it. We also collect data about spaces for facility condition assessments as well, often using the FMS:Mobile platform to update this data in real-time.
Asset Collection
Most customers who fail to execute on collecting asset data do so because of unavailable resources. Not only can AMS provide personnel to collect and edit asset data, but we can potentially leverage a customer’s FMS:Mobile environment to add/update them directly into the database, saving data import time.
Whether it’s updating furniture assets, identifying data jack locations, or even collecting artwork, AMS can add these assets into the system and provide unique identifiers with barcode scanning capability. We are currently working on an in-room placement feature for FMS:Workplace that will allow you to drag and drop assets into a location within a room using the floor plan.
