Visualize and Build Your Workplace

You have probably used Google Streets before when visualizing a location you were going to visit. AMS can provide a similar experience but within the facility, allowing you to navigate the space virtually. There are a number of benefits this offers for facility and real estate departments. AMS partners with iGUIDE as needed to meet your visualization needs.

By scanning your facility, you can provide visualization for employees to review space designs and concepts such as Activity-Based Working and Neighborhoods as well as allow them to walk through these spaces as if they were there on-site. They can stop to review tagged areas of the space that provide additional information such as links and videos. You can even measure space as well as if you were there on-site with a tape measure!

Another value for employees in previsualization. Employees can use this for training purposes, to be more aware of areas they will be going into such as confined spaces, manufacturing areas, or labs. They can also use the tool to see and understand safety protocols and where they need to go upon arriving at the workplace with new safety measures in place. This previsualization can reduce stress and put an employees’ mind at ease before they arrive.

Asset Data Collection

In addition to visualizing the facility, you can also use scanning to visit each space once virtually and capture everything you see for asset management and other data collection. As you virtually navigate rooms you can build an inventory on the fly, capturing the type of furniture you have in the office environment to doing a condition assessment and noting wall and floor covering data. By scanning and visiting the space just once you can revisit it several times virtually to get the info you need about the space and assets within.

Field Verification

The scanning process allows you to overlay the scan’s floor plan results onto your existing CAD drawings to note any discrepancies. This allows you to update any architectural changes that may have happened during renovations and never got updated in CAD. It helps to keep your data more current and accurate. The scan can also be used to create a basic floor plan as well if you do not have an existing CAD file. With the latest scanning technology, you could scan up to 10,000 sq/ft in as little as half an hour!

BIM Models

Finally, when you need the most accurate scanning to BIM conversion, AMS offers scanning solutions that help capture space and utilities information for a more comprehensive 3D model in Autodesk Revit. The level of detail can be scanned at multiple levels and the output can provide a digital twin of your building if needed.
